Always in a constant conversation with nature and nurture, I step outside my home studio to take a moment, a breather. With purpose and stillness during those quiet Winter walks, I welcome the fresh air. To hear the gentle wind pass through, and to rock my second child to sleep. On these nap time walks I look up at the sky and often wonder, ‘What would it feel like to be the wind? Where might it take me?’
Introspection pays tribute to all those precious moments and the opposing tension where quieter marks are interlaced with moody colours, soft and gentle like floating with the wind. What emerges is a visual language that extends beyond the surface to my inner landscape, my inner realm. The transparent washes juxtaposed with opaque brushwork asks the viewer to enter the world of my psychology and unearth the many complex layers.
